This tour begins in Irkutsk, the nearest city to Baikal lake, then we will departure to Listvyanka village,   We continue our journey exploring the east coast of Baikal lake to its widest point in the middle and passing by the peninsula Svyatoi Nos ( Holy Nose) and the natural reserve Ushkan Islands. Afterwards we are going to visit the famous Olkhon island, the  largest island on the lake, land full of legends and holy places. And our final stop is going to be the Ogoy island with a symbol of Buddhist faith – Stuppa of Enlightment.

Tour programme 

​

Day 1 

 

Arrival in the airport/ railway station of Irkutsk,  one of the oldest cities in Siberia. Meeting your English-speaking guide. Breakfast. City tour.  Transfer to Listvyanka, a village on the edge of Baikal lake. Visiting the Baikal limnological museum.  Exploring the village with its port and fish market. Accommodation in a hotel.

 

Day 2

 

The first day of our cruise when we embark on a voyage and head for our first destination point Peschannaya (Sandy) bay. Arrival to the bay, taking pictures of the sunset.  Overnight on board.

 

Day 3

 

We continue our journey heading to the next stop - the strait Male more ( Small sea). Taking photos in the evening. Night on board.

 

Day 4

 

Crossing the lake to the east coast  where we’ll find the Barguzin bay, one of the warmest bays of Baikal.  Time for walking and enjoying the views.

 

Day 5

 

Early morning departure to Ushkan islands.  When we arrive to one of the islands we’ll meet the staff of the reserve who will show us the point of observation of the seals.  Travelling  to Chivirkuysky bay situated on the other end of peninsula Svyatoi Nos ( Holy Nose) . Overnight at the bay.

 

Day 6

 

Taking photos in the morning.  Exploring Olkhon island - the largest island on the lake. Visiting the Khuzhir village, which is considered to be the «capital» of Olkhon. In the evening we can head to  the main symbol of the island - the famous Shamanka Rock. Overnight on board.

Day 7

 

After the sunrise on Shamanka rock,  we departure to Ogoy island - one of the 24 islands of the lake, the largest on the strait Male more ( Small sea). Afterwards we go back to the mainland where the bus will be waiting for us. Return to Irkutsk by road.

 

Day 8

 

Transfer to the airport/ railway station.
