Olkhon island
   This tour begins in Irkutsk, the nearest city to Baikal lake, then we continue our journey travelling to Listvyanka village and visiting its museums. The next our stop is going to be the famous Olkhon island - the largest island on the lake, land full of legends and holy places. We will pass through Kotelnikovskiy cape spring arriving to the northern part of the lake - the city of Severobaikalsk.
Tour programme  

Day 1 Irkutsk


Arrival to the airport/ railway station of Irkutsk, meeting with your English- speaking guide.

Transfer to the hotel. City tour. Visiting the Historic Memorial Decembrists’ Museum and the central market with the local products. Dinner. Accommodation in a hotel in Irkutsk.


Day 2 Irkutsk - Listvyanka


In the morning transfer to Listvyanka, a village on the edge of Baikal lake. Visiting the Baikal limnological museum. Lunch.  Exploring the village with its fish market and the church of Saint Nicholas. Chairlift to the Chersky Rock. Transfer to the hotel. Russian sauna (banya). Dinner.


Day 3 Listvyanka - Taltsy - Irkutsk


Departure for the Talsty Museum of Wooden Architecture. Lunch. Workshops on the art of craft-making in the museum. Three-horses open sledging.  On the way back to Irkutsk we will have a traditional dinner in a Russian family. Return to Irkutsk.


Day 4 Irkutsk - Olkhon Island


Traveling to Olkhon Island - the largest island on the lake. On the way visiting the Buryat village Ust-Orda with its ethnographic museum. Lunch.  Crossing the strait Maloe More ( Small Sea) on the transparent ice. Arrival to the village of Khuzhir. Accommodation in a  local guest-house. Exploring the village and its famous Shamanka Rock. Dinner.


Day 5 Olkhon Island - Khoboy Cape - Kocherikovo village


Traveling in a hovercraft to the northern part of the island - Khoboy Cape. On the way we are going to make photo stops in the most picturesque places. Lunch will be served on the ice.  Transfer to the Kocherikovo village  on the west coast of the lake.  Accommodation in a local guest-house.


Day 6 Kocherikovo village - Kotelnikovskiy cape


Transfer to Kotelnikovskiy cape spring driving a hovercraft on the ice. Arriving to the holiday camp and swimming in the local hot springs.


Day 7 Kotelnikovskiy Cape - Severobaikalsk


In the  morning swimming in the hot springs. Lunch. Transfer in a hovercraft to Severokailsk, a town at the north end of Baikal. Accommodation in a hotel. Visiting the Baikal -Amur Mainline Development Museum. Dinner.


Day 8 Severobaikalsk - Irkutsk


After breakfast we are going to see the famous tunnels of the Baykal-Amur Mainline  which was cut under the mountain ridge not far from Severobaikalsk. Lunch. Transfer to the Nizhneangarsk airport. Flight to Irkutsk.  Transfer to the hotel.


Day 9  Departure


Transfer to the airport/ railway station of Irkutsk.
